Big Comeback for Big Yellow House
New changes to Summerland’s old landmark: The Big Yellow House is up for lease!
Current owner and contractor Paul Franz has renovated the building’s exterior, put in double-pane windows, and is installing a new elevator off the parking lot.
Franz also coated the former seaside restaurant in what some call a “nicer, more subtle” shade of yellow.
The Radius Group in Santa Barbara is busy helping Franz find new tenants who can either lease all 6,000 square feet, or split it up. Several restaurants, CPA’s, attorneys and even a hair salon have expressed interest.
Real estate experts say Franz has taken care to preserve the Old World features, including the dramatic staircase and the fireplace with handmade tiles.
Work is expected to be completed in ninety days and if all goes as planned, The Big Yellow House will be back open for business by the end of the year.
