TV celebrity chefs Damiano Carrara and Massimiliano Carrara have taken out a 10-year lease to expand their bakery, Carrara Pastries, into a larger location in Moorpark at the Tuscany Square Retail Center.
The new bakery will be 5,000 square feet and offer an array of Italian dishes including pastries, cakes, coffees, gelato as well as lunch and dinner options.
Carrara wanted a location with strong visibility, active ownership and increased parking, he said in a statement.
The Carrara brothers opened Carrara Pastries in 2012 before appearing on Food Network shows like “Spring Baking Championship,” “Guy’s Grocery Games” and “Food Network Star.”
Lisa Engel-Shields of Radius Group said it was an “out-of-the-box lease and a perfect example of how landlords are getting creative in the changing retail climate.”
The Carraras hope to complete their move by January of 2018.
Bram White of DAUM Commercial directed the lease on behalf of the tenant.
