In its second major expansion in the past 12 months, Santa Barbara-based Radius Commercial Real Estate & Investments recently completed the acquisition of Ventura-based retail firm Hagelis Group – The Retail Property Advisors, in its continued effort to expand service and reach in the Tri-Counties.
Radius, which added a Ranch, Ag & Vine division in addition to business brokering services early last fall, reeled in the talent of Hagelis whose expertise in the retail sector and strong footprint in Ventura County is expected to open new doors and strengthen existing relationships for both Radius and Hagelis clients.
The new Hagelis Retail Advisors will operate under the Radius banner while maintaining its office at 4227 E. Main St., Suite 220 in Ventura. Bill and Linda Hagelis, Hagelis co-founders, will take on roles as Senior Vice Presidents at Radius. Their team consists of Rob Devericks and Lisa Engel, both experienced retail brokers in Ventura County.
“Times are changing in our space and our clients are continuing to push the boundaries and looking for competitive advantages in our markets,” said Radius Principal and Managing Partner, Brad Frohling.
Acquiring Hagelis, whose combined 75 years expertise in the retail sector, including the sale and leasing of shopping centers, malls and major retail development projects, as well as tenant site acquisition and representation, is expected to give investors and tenants more access and options throughout the Tri-Counties, said Frohling. “Hagelis is home-grown just like we are, and our clients appreciate their local-guy insight and market knowledge they bring which makes them a perfect fit with our culture.”
Radius now has 21 brokers which makes it one of the largest local brokerages in the area. “We never set out to be the biggest,” said Frohling. “But what it means to our clients is more connections, broader reach and an even stronger team behind every deal.”
In turn, Hagelis will also benefit from the resources and operations team that Radius has built since its founding in 2002. “What we do best is getting in the trenches with our clients,” said Bill Hagelis. “This strategic partnership really allows us to focus on getting deals done.”
