For Don Katich, living in Santa Barbara is not just a choice—it’s a dream realized. A California native, he sees Santa Barbara as the truest expression of the “California Dream,” where ocean, islands, and mountains meet culture, education, the arts, and a health-centered way of life. Real estate here isn’t just about property; it’s about opening the door to an extraordinary way of living.

Don first arrived in Santa Barbara after graduating from college in the early ’80s. He quickly put down roots, raising a family, and embracing a community that has given him so much.

With a degree in Communications, Don built a career in Real Estate, advertising and marketing including producing and managing thousands of commercial campaigns that helped local businesses and non-profits thrive. His knack for “objective based messaging” has carried through his leadership roles in media, journalism, aviation, and real estate. Today, that same focus and experience helps him guide the day to day operations at the Radius Group.

Don is deeply involved in the Santa Barbara community. He serves on the Board of the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors and its Government Relations Committee. In recognition of his philanthropic leadership, Don received the Association’s prestigious “Good Neighbor Award.” His proudest work includes serving as President of SPARKLE and the founding Producer of the Kenny Loggins Christmas Unity Telethon, which has raised more than $22 million for local families in need. He has also supported organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Easter Seals, and Santa Barbara’s Teen Star competition, where he currently serves as an audition judge.

When he is not working, Don can often be found hiking backcountry trails with his wife, enjoying visits from their daughter Alyssa, diving or snorkeling remote corners of the South Pacific, reading history and occasional self-growth books, or simply savoring whatever delicious creation his wife has cooked up.
